Description
Pinehurst “Putter Boy” statue is copper/ bronze. Size 9 /12″ tall. The base is 9″ long. The “Putter Boy” statue is a rare collectible. The statue is a logo for Pinehurst Country Club since about 1910. It was created as a bronze sundial- with the shadow from the extra-long shaft indicating the hour – and stood on a pedestal near the practice putting green until it was transferred to the nearby PGA/ World Golf Hall of Fame in the 1970s. The “Putter Boy” statue was originally given to the homeowners at the Pinehurst Resort. Statue was made by Balfour company makers of Championship awards. The “Putter Boy” statue was a trophy for North and South Amateur Championship held in Pinehurst Resort every year. This original “Putter Boy” statues made from about 1910 thru about 1960’s.
